Science on Saturdays

Have you ever wondered about the outcome of an explosion? Or just wanted to put a myth to the test? For the inner scientist, join Landmark Park every Saturday in August at 10 a.m. to do science experiments just for fun! These activities are free with paid gate admission ($5 for adults, $4 for kids, free for park members and children 2 and under. Pay when you arrive). AUGUST 6: ROBOTIC SUPERHERO GLOVE
Make your very own robotic glove! Guests will be able to construct their own glove with recycled materials while learning about space technology. Held in conjunction with the Landmark Park Education Festival. No registration required.

AUGUST 13: CATAPULT PAINTING
Using the scientific method, paint your very own masterpiece! After building your own miniature catapult, lay siege on your canvas. $5 materials fee.

AUGUST 20: MARSHMALLOW SHIPS
With a little imagination, build a boat out of marshmallows! Test it in the water to see if it’s seaworthy. Participants will compete to see which ship sails best with passengers. Learn about buoyancy and all the science that goes into ships! $5 materials fee.

AUGUST 27: CHEMICAL FRENZY
Ever wanted to just make something go boom? Or learn why it goes boom? Join us for our final program to learn about chemical reactions.
