The Landmark Park Vintage Baseball League is meeting monthly and ready to play some games as the weather has finally reached those vintage levels. If you are interested in preserving the history of baseball and playing the game the way it was meant to be played, come out and join us. We are forming two teams, the Dothan Peanuts and the Wiregrass Plowboys. No experience necessary! Open to men and women, ages 13 and up. The league will play by 1860’s Beadle’s Dime rules and our House rules. All equipment will be provided. For more information, call Jay at 334-794-3452 or email jay@landmarkparkdothan.com.
The goal of this program is to preserve the history of the game in its formative years. Spectators are invited to bring their lawn chairs and watch the games, while pennant girls explain the rules and terminology to the audience.
Free admission for players, gate admission charged for viewers. Meet at the Alabama Agricultural Museum.
Sponsored by Visit Dothan, Stephen Holland, Steve and Angelia Stokes, Craig Snellgrove, Five Star Credit Union and Alabama Peanut Producers Association. Interested in sponsoring the team? Click here for info!
