Scheduling Your Field Trip
Choose your program
Landmark Park has science, history and seasonal programs available to choose from. Check out our website and view the course descriptions to decide which program works best for you. Our Education Department is happy to help with your program selection or answer any questions about programming. We can also help develop custom programs if needed. Contact the Education Department via phone 334-794-3452 or email email@example.com.
Once you have decided on the perfect program for you, reservations are easy. Fill out a reservation request form found on our website. Once your reservation request has been received by the Education Department, you will receive a confirmation letter with details about your trip. A 25 % deposit is due before your booking is complete. Your deposit will be due one month after your program reservation request is submitted. Landmark Park’s education department will not present programs to groups who have not paid their deposit. Please make sure you are familiar with our field trip policies, found on our website.
Preparing your Students and Chaperones
Make sure all teachers, as well as each student and chaperone, understand the following rules:
-Respect others in your group and park staff
-Teachers and chaperones must stay with their groups at all times
-Prepare name tags using the student’s first name. Name tags should be large and easy to read.
-Chaperones should always set a good example for the students.
-Chaperones are encouraged to not bring their own children with them if their children are younger than the group they are accompanying.
-Students are asked not to talk while the Educator is talking or while other students are asking questions; we ask that chaperones comply as well.
-Have students use the bathroom before leaving the school or when first arriving at the Park.
-Cameras and cell phones are welcome, however, we ask that students and adults refrain from using cell phones, chewing gum, or eating food during your program, unless for medical reasons.
Arrival at the Park
Please make plans to arrive at the park at least 15 minutes or more prior to your scheduled education program. This will give you plenty of time to exit the bus and get into your groups and use the restrooms, as well as meet up with any extra chaperones or parents.
Please pay attention to the map attached to your confirmation letter, as this map has information about where you will need to park, unload, meet the Landmark Park staff member, etc.
Self-led groups will pay the gate attendant, park and be ready to start their day. You will not need to meet up with a Landmark Park staff member prior to starting your day; however, you do need to be respectful of other groups at the Park.
You are more than welcome to bring in lunches. There are several picnic areas available to choose from. There are 12 tables under the playground pavilion and they are available on a first come, first-served basis. There are also picnic tables available in the picnic area located next to the Interpretive Center, also available on a first come, first-served basis. To reserve picnic tables at the Playground Pavilion, please see the Reservation section of our website for pricing and more information. Please note these reservations are not made through the Education Department.
Please make sure all trash is thrown in the trash cans. Please make sure students are aware of the proper recycling bins for aluminum and plastic.
We love to receive mail, so please feel free to send us artwork or letters from the students. We also welcome suggestions and comments from teachers and chaperones. Please send comments and suggestions to the Education Department at firstname.lastname@example.org
